[Discussion] A theory/headcanon about Geuse's and Fortuna's relationship
So recently I've been thinking about what's going on in the relationship between Fortuna and Geuse and the reason they could never end up together all these years, and I've thought, hey, so it's obvious Forruna can't let herself be together with Geuse because of her duty as guardian of the Elior forest, right?
And it seems like... it might be the same case for Geuse. For all we know, spirits consider their contractors to be the most important people in their life - that's the case for Puck and Emilia and it's the case for Beatrice and Subaru, and a bond between a spirit and their contractor is sacred, right? So knowing all that, and the fact that Petelgeuse's fingers (i.e. the bodies he possesses) are essentially his contractors, wouldn't Geuse think that being in a dedicated relationship with Fortuna might "break" his bond he has with his vessels, and much like Fortuna, Geuse has a very strong sense of duty, so to a spirit, getting in a relationship with someone who isn't their contractor might be taboo.
Then there's the modern Petelgeuse who has a contract with his bodies and considers Satella to be his most important person, but at that point he wasn't a normal spirit or a normal person in general so... not a good frame of reference lol.
