Vacationing for nanny

Just wanted to get some insight here

We are planning an all inclusive cruise and we are toying with the idea of bringing the Nanny and her significant other. We would pay for all their travel and their own room/meal plan.

Our offer is this:

We will pay you for 8hr of work and would expect help with the kids the typical hours 7am-3pm.

-getting them up and ready
-helping with breakfast
-fun activity
-lunch
-putting down for a nap

After 3 PM, you’re free to go about as you please.

If you end up staying later then 3pm we will pay for overtime.

I read allot of posts saying “ if I’m away from my house, I expect to be paid”. But I think this is a fair offer, it still gives her most of the day to go about and enjoy free time.

I’m a little concerned because my Nanny is a bit talkative, she can sometimes linger around even when she’s off the clock. I want to be clear that she is on her own time after 3, so if she sticks around hanging out with us she won’t be paid for it.

I think I’ll draft up an agreement, and have her sign it before we go just so it’s all clear.

But I’m looking for advice on if this is a fair offer or not.

Edit: Thanks you guys for some of the helpful insight. There were a few things I hadnt considered . I’ll draft it up and make an offer. Obviously, if she doesn’t wanna take it, she doesn’t wanna take it.

I am more just ranting here than anything.

My son was just assigned to kindergarten placement school, and it’s different from all the other kids on the block. I know they do it based on class size and other factors but it’s really frustrating.

It’s hard enough to be a parent without a community and I’m lucky enough to at least have my Neighbors. We rely on each other for pick ups and last minute babysitting, etc.

Now, of course, my kid will be on a different bus and in a different school. Our plan was to have all the kids meet at one house for pickup and rely on each other to grab the kids from school on half days and stuff…

And obviously, I’m worried my kids gonna be left out. But I understand that that’s probably just me worrying more than he will even notice.

This just sucks.

I asked the school about a transfer, but they said if we put in a transfer request, he won’t be allowed to take the bus.

Excitement wavering, but here is my new baby!!

Hey! I grew up riding but when I turned 18 life moved fast. I left home, moved states, went to school, got married, had kids etc..

I’m 30 now though and just got my first big girl bike!
I’m so excited and took her for a spin, i’m quite the grandma rider I’ll admit.

Anyways I posted a photo on social media and literally eveyone said things like:

“ be careful I had to stop riding because of other drivers”

“So and so died”

“I stopped driving because it’s unsafe”

“ I wouldn’t ride while I have a little kids, too much risk of dying”

And on and on…

Anyways I came to Reddit to try and find the girls group to get my excitement back!

Hopefully, I can find a group and my new area to ride with, since my husband doesn’t ride.
