The "One-Grab" Solution: My custom monolithic EDC wallet & phone carrier.

I spent months prototyping a solution for the "phone-wallet-keys" mental checklist. The goal was to create a monolithic gear-wrap that houses everything I need to leave the house in one simple, minimalist form factor.

Design & Materials

Fabric: Olive X-Pac (Durable, water-resistant, and maintains that structured look).

Hardware: Strong internal magnetic closure for a satisfying, secure snap.

Inspiration: Heavily influenced by the layout of the Evergoods CAP1, but slimmed down and modified for pocket/on-body carry.

Key Features

Dedicated Phone Slot: No more sliding around; it’s sized to keep the phone secure but accessible.

Wearable Versatility: Integrated hooks on the side allow it to transition from a handheld folio to a small sling or neck pouch when I need to be hands-free.

Grab-and-Go: Designed so I never have to worry if I forgot a specific item—if I have the wallet, I have my life.

The Build Process

This was a labor of love involving several iterations to get the magnetic strength and the "fold" just right.

Leveraging premium greeting card stock for a small-batch notebook run

I’m currently prototyping the design language for my new softgoods brand, Varis. To get the cover durability and "technical" feel I wanted without a massive offset print run, I experimented with premium greeting card production. The result is a 48-page graph grid memo book with a heavy-weight, topographic cover that can actually handle back-pocket wear.

It’s been a great way to bridge the gap between a design concept and a physical product I can actually use in the field.

The Specs:

Cover: Heavy matte cardstock (Topo motif)

Interior: Graph Grid | 48 Pages
