I've been using it for about an hour or two, and I can definitely say it's a step in the right direction.
The style, as is implied, leans further into how Soft Launch used to be. Short but descriptive. I can also appreciate that the bots actually talk now. Now obviously the style isn't perfect, since it was released just a few hours ago, so not everything is going to be smooth at the seams
But overall, I am glad to see the devs are actually listening to us. Granted, they could have easily given us Soft Launch back. And I can't really say that they need the money because they make probably at least hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions a day. All I can really say is that it's a marketing strategy at the end of the day, not really anything anyone can defend
Though I can't really complain since again, it really seems like they kind of combined Pip-1 and Soft Launch's best features into one with inevitable bugs.
Like, istg members of Team Ice King are just finding ANY reason to throw strays at Team Foundation
Like I'm sorry, I don't really care about who wins this whole rivalry thing, but if you're just gonna post on social media about how the other team sucks, I find that to just be lame
First of all its basically just "We have Battlefront at home" in Fortnite
Second of all, the mode is inhabited by the following players:
Sweats
Overwatch players
And former Battlefront players
First one being whatever, with the other 2 being the worst part of it. Battlefront and Overwatch players are heavily experienced in this form of gameplay that is King of the Hill. Something that Fortnite does not have aside from UEFN maps. And they rarely get attention because Fortnite to put simply isn't a King of the Hill kind of environment.
This is a problem because it makes the Libby's damn near impossible to play for average Fortnite players. Especially for people who've been playing since Chapter 1 because again, Fortnite doesn't have many King of the Hill games.
Don't get me wrong, it is good to play Galactic Siege in a private match with like 4 friends to balance out the teams. But there's a fine line between fighting your friends, and fighting the urge to punch your screen for many particular reasons
For instance this game has terrible environmental obstacles. The star destroyer map literally has a giant hole in the center of it. So if you accidentally double jump into this hole as a force user, you lose all the credits you paid for that role.
Then for Hoth, it's impossible to get around without running into a rock, falling into a trench, or stumbling across a room filled with enemy forces. It's impossible to get around.
And even if you could easily get around, both maps have made the Pilot role useless, since you can't use the ships in the destroyer, and odds are everyone's going to be hidden under some kind of roof on Hoth.
Not to mention you mine as well just not be a pilot at all because the moment you do, you'll get shot down within seconds, and that's 50 credits down the drain.
Same thing with controlling the AT-AT. All you have to do is shoot the things neck and it's over with. It does nothing.
Overall, if i were to rate this game on a scale of 1-10, it would literally be 1/10 with the only redeeming fact being it's fun to play with friends, but gets boring extremely fast.
