iPod Touch 4 disabled – any way to retry passcode or preserve data? (Mac only)

Hi everyone,

I have an old iPod Touch 4 that I recently found, but unfortunately I forgot the passcode and the device is now disabled.

My main goal is to preserve the data inside (photos, old memories, etc.), so I really want to avoid restoring if possible.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

•	Used Legacy iOS Kit to jailbreak via ramdisk

→ It actually worked once and brought me back to the passcode entry screen

→ But after a few incorrect attempts, the device got disabled again

→ Now I can’t seem to get it back to the passcode screen using the same method

•	Tried Silver 6.2

→ But it seems like iPod Touch 4 is not supported / no available option

Environment:

•	Only have a Mac (no Windows machine available)

My questions:

1.	Is there any way to allow unlimited passcode attempts on iOS 6 (iPod Touch 4)?

2.	Is there any known method to brute force the passcode while keeping user data intact?

3.	Any recommended tools or workflows that still work in 2026 for 32-bit devices? (Mac preferred)

I understand this is an old device, but I’d really appreciate any guidance. The data inside is very important to me.

Thanks in advance!
