Tips for better merchandising skills as a new ADM?

Hi! I just recently became an ADM at Nordstrom Rack and you know, besides training and directing my team; I have to do a lot of truck and since it’s my first time ever in a position role like this, I can’t help but be nervous about my current merchandising skills — because I’m not used to do truck as often (I always focus on doing go-backs and recovery).

Does any employees here have any tips that can help me out in how to merchandise better? Often times, I find myself trying to come up with ideas too! I’m comfortable in fill-in the floor but when it comes up to do some moves, re-merchandising and changing rounders, double-trunks and such; I don’t really feel comfortable because I think I’m doing it in the wrong way.

Whenever I get new stuff from the truck, I find myself struggling as well because my store (Tier 3) is way too packed with so much merchandise so most of the times I don’t know what to do with it or what to change. Any kind tips that can help this poor soul to be a better learner and ADM? Because I also want to teach new hires and my current team how to do merchandise. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
