South King County Transit Town Hall (May 13th from 6-7:30pm at Highline College)

Given the financial struggles Sound Transit is facing, there has been talk of cutting the Boeing Access Light Rail stop as well as Sounder improvements in South King County. As a result, some hard conversations are being had about the future of Sound Transit expansion in our region. The Sound Transit Board will need to make tough decisions on what projects to prioritize, as well as ways to cut costs to deliver the projects promised to voters.

Transportation Choices Coalition (TCC), along with the Build The Damn Trains coalition, has organized a series of town halls across the region intended to give folks an opportunity to hear from decision makers and to help educate the public on what is happening with Sound Transit. These events will feature board members and staff, the folks who make decisions about the future of light rail, answering questions in a structured format, and are open to all.

This includes one at Highline College, Building 2 on Wednesday, May 13 from 6-7:30pm, featuring Tukwila Mayor Thomas McLeod and King County Councilmember Steffanie Fain, along with opening remarks from King County Executive Girmay Zahilay. You can sign up using the link here.
