I’m trying to decide on an ornamental cherry to eventually serve as canopy for a dogwood. I’ve sort of narrowed it down to Yoshino, Okame, or Shiro-Fugen. Main requirements are that it be in the 15’ to 20’ range, tolerant of heat, the space has good drainage, summer water isn’t a huge problem, and I’d actually prefer some fruit (for the birds).
