In need of small pacific north-west town detective books
Think detective (or not so official sleuth) in a small, foggy town with many many trees, looking for vibes similar to Twilight, Twin Peaks, and Supernatural

Hello all, I will be starting my freshman year in August of this year at LSU, majoring in accounting and minoring (hopefully) in Internal Auditing.
Don’t laugh but, I’m pretty lost.
Life story (haha, feel free to skim):
Originally, I wanted to go to CU Boulder for Aerospace engineering, space has always been a really big passion of mine, and I, of course, wanted to work with it. But sadly I came to realize that my anxious personality coupled with depression would not fare well in such a high stress environment as engineering. While math does come easy to me, it’s hard to put any of the required brain power into classes when you spent all of it getting up in the morning. I am getting better though! Ultimately I was led to accounting due to the stability, to manage my anxiety (please don’t doom post in the comments about AI and waning stability, I am aware), and that I generally feel relaxed and decently happy while doing my accounting homework. I am by no means saying that what accountants do is easy, but it is far easier to manage for me than any engineering class would be.
While im not super duper passionate about accounting, I do love money and numbers.
My plan is to hopefully (this is my idealism not realism) work from home (important! I see myself being married to my boyfriend- he’s a US Marine and we will be moving around when I graduate) and make enough money to live a comfortable life. I know that pay will increase as I work. Please set me up with some advice I can take into college. Feel free to discuss pros and cons of big 4 (LSU has them come in for conference, and many alumni work for them), and please talk about any internships you all know of. Thank you in advance!
EDIT: I really, really like the look of forensic accounting
Anybody have any seaside horror books worthy of recommendation? With summer coming up im looking for some foggy ocean town vibes- mysterious disappearances are totally a bonus, and mermaids would be unbelievably appreciated, but not a requirement. And please, no summer camps (sorry!)
And while im at it, feel free to throw in some ‘don’t go into the woods’ books, but if you are recommending one, please make sure its unique and not another re-skin of the classic ‘secluded cabin and horrors in the woods around it.’.
Definitely looking for mystery town with some good scaries thrown in there! Thank you in advance :)
I’m an incoming freshman and will be in business residential housing and nobody has reached out to be roommates! The deadline to choose is May 10th and it seems like nobody is talking and I totally feel like I’m doing something wrong- was I maybe too honest in my Roomate profile? Seems like everyone is saying that they’re “chill, clean, and go with the flow!”, but there’s no way that’s true. Is it hopeless? Am I going to have to go the blind route?
I’m also super nervous because I was never really the type to have a bunch of female friends, though I always tried real hard. Hoping that will turn around but this isn’t making me feel very hopeful
