2022 sorento PHEV. Never experienced this in any other I’ve owned. It’s entirely random, but sometimes when I go to accelerate from a dead stop there’s a delay in pressing down on the gas and the engine going. Feels weird and uncomfortable because when it does start it’s pretty jarring.
Anyone else experienced this?
Anyone else get a phev and then wish they just went full EV? We picked up this Sorento phev as we needed the third row for kids and space. Then two weeks later my wife picked up a Honda Prologue full EV. I swear, after driving her car around I now want a full EV too lol. The reality is I can’t afford an EV9 or any other full size third row EV right now but man - I feel like when I my burns through the battery and I move back to gas hybrid again I get so bummed lol.
I just had to carry my 6 year old child into the car screaming and shouting how she didn’t want to go to school today. The routine disruption was today being field day and her not knowing what to expect. I tried my hardest preparing her for it - she was excited until she heard “races”. She immediately shut down and didn’t want any part of it. I drove the entire way to school with her punching my arm over and over again - definitely leaving bruising there. My wife is adamantly opposed to this being autism - I’m certain it’s level 1. She says it’s adhd and then gets so angry at her and yells back. I’m exhausted. And so so sad.
Thank you for letting me type this out. Not looking for any advice - just felt like I needed to tell someone.
We just picked up a ‘24 prologue elite with 20k miles yesterday. Love the way it drives. Wish it had better cameras for parking. I thought it was going to have a digital mirror but it doesn’t - also thought it would have a parking button to show the 360 camera while parking but it appears it only does that if we go in reverse.
H and also, somehow, the rear door handle looks like it’s broken and will fall off if pulled too hard. Going to have to bring it to the dealer this week to get fixed, along with the infotainment recall.
And why in the world do these ev car manufacturers not install dim lights on the inside of the charge port door?
P.S. the more I drive this car the more I love it. I haven’t used a brake pedal all day today. This makes me want to sell my Sorento phev and go full EV now too lol. So jealous of my wife’s car now.
