My car has always idled a little rough for the first ten or so miles right after filling up with gas. I've learned you're not supposed to keep pumping once the handle clicks off. I normally don't run the car while pumping but when I do, the engine will idle rough while the tank is filling all the way from empty to full. I found the purge valve assembly and noticed a mechanic had broke and then tried to glue the connector back together. Would this be the culprit of the rough idle? It's the top hose coming from the split hose after the purge valve solenoid, going into the air intake manifold I believe. I highly doubt the dealership I use will fess up to the break. What does this broken hose actually do?

Went to look at the Canister Purge Valve Assembly and found a prior mechanic had broke a connector and tried to fix it with some epoxy I think. Wow.  Looks like I have to replace the larger part the purge valve connects into? Does anyone know the part number? Thanks.
