Can we 1984 the "people are too mean to NTs" posts?
I realise that I got top comment on the most recent instance of these by saying I was only going to watch others argue, but in the process of doing just that, I developed my some thoughts that I would like to share.
The general consensus in the replies to that post seemed to be that the OP was wrong and was essentially victim-blaming people here for daring to make fun of the group that is most often our oppressors (NTs). I'm sure there are actual supremacists who genuinely think that we should wage an equivalent of class warfare against the allistic menace, but those people are usually downvoted and laughed out of the sub. I see far more of the "dont be mean to NTs" posts than "lets actually go off on our own and form an autismostate" posts.
This sub is meant to be a safe space for autistic people. Its a place where we should be able to vent and satirically curse the neurotypical population for the discrimination we fight through. This sub's existance is not going to hamper our efforts to be accepted by society, nor is it reflective of the views of most autistic people. To that end, we shouldnt be shaming a minority group for making fun of the majority, especially when it is satirical and most of us dont actually blanket hate neurotypicals. An analogy that was used on the post was that its a bit like going into a safe space for women and telling them that its "not all men".
I think we should ban these kinds of posts, they are at best annoying and at worst downright harmful. I also suggest that its made more clear that this sub is satirical. I get that its already clear enough, with it being in the rules and all, but clearly some people are struggling with the concept. I'm not sure how this could be achived, maybe an automod reminder on a post?
TLDR: We are evil autistics, why the fuck are we not purging our opposition? Thats what every evil dictator has done ever.
