I’m looking into buying an 08 cobalt with 140km on it. Only problem is it has an odd loud ticking type of noise whenever it’s on. It doesn’t go away at all but it’s either the timing chain or the valve lifter. If it’s the chain then I’m pretty sure it’ll need to be fixed asap (correct me if wrong) but how can I diagnose the problem myself? Any help is much appreciated.
