City Council Review of Data Center in FW

City Council Review of Data Center in FW

It seems like this has already been approved by the zoning commission but I will likely reach out and express my opposition to city council anyway. Or at the very least try to research if anything else can be done about the impact to water supply and electricity prices on FWians when a data center moves in.

I encourage everyone else to reach out too.

Your favorite massage providers!

I am curious if anyone has a favorite massage provider, what you like, and the approximate cost. I’ve been to a chain before, but would like to support someone local and vetted if I can.

I signed up for the Hers program for a 39$ monthly membership. I didn’t realize at first that this did not include medicine and thought I was getting a good deal.

My bad for not reading the fine print.

As soon as I realized it didn’t include medicine and would increase to $149 I decided to go ahead and get the first month medicine and then cancel the membership, intending to go to another provider that is more affordable (maybe orderly meds). Even since then I’ve been in hell.

For one, hers now refused to fulfill the medication order after the membership had been cancelled. I tried to go through their customer support messaging dashboard but it’s a very bad piece of technology. For one, on mobile the message input box sometimes bugs out and sends messages too early before I’m done.

This bug has compounding effects. It seems that hers uses LLMs to respond to customer support. I say this because I’m in software and I know what it’s like to use a LLM for these kinds of tasks. But if you send a buggy message and then try to fix it, it confuses the bot.

When the bot isn’t confused it will respond with straight up contradictory info. For example it told me to just click re instate on my membership but no such option exists in either the web or mobile UI. Additionally when I pointed this out, it said that what I would need to do is sign up for a new membership, and then once I paid the $149, it would refund me.

I refuse to do this because I have already paid for one month of a membership and even got the prescription. Hers just refuses to fulfill it now. Also, “A computer can never be held accountable, therefore a computer must never make a management decision.”

I suppose I could have waited until the medicine was in hand to cancel but based on this experience I am not at all convinced that hers would have actually shipped it until the membership had renewed anyway.

It’s been a really horrible experience and I would caution anyone considering hers to take this experience into consideration.

Edit:

I called their customer service and they are saying the same thing as the robot - they want me to pay a membership fee again, this time for 149.99, and they are incapable of reinstating the membership.

I used to live in another TX city near a discount electronics store that sold laptops and PCs and tech accessories that were acquired from corporate selloffs and then sold secondhand and cheap to consumers like myself. Anything like that here in FW?
