How are older ADHD Partners thinking about moving forward?

He’s dx, medicated, and in therapy but it doesn’t change his behaviors. We are in our early 50’s.

I feel like even though this is VERY dysfunctional, I am better off with the scraps of help and support I get now compared to living alone. I have no interest in partnering again. And he is fun to be around sometimes.

But I realize I would NOT have the same approach when I was younger and wanted a partner. So I’m curious how others who are nearing retirement are approaching this.

Do you have a super hard time communicating with people online? I feel like people are always trying to fight with me online over innocuous comments (like in the laundry sub or recipe subs). I never understand why they are so mean.

I’ll literally say I prefer a top loader washing machine to front loader or a particular type of detergent and people go off on me like I’ve said something awful about them.

I’m so genuinely confused.

I don’t know if it’s me or if people on the internet are just super hateful.
