LAMF gave loans. We’re trying to make mutual funds actually usable

I’m building a concept called LienPay, a platform where mutual fund investors can unlock a credit line against their existing investments and use it directly via UPI, without redeeming their funds.

Simple example:

You have ₹3L invested in mutual funds.

Instead of selling your units during a temporary cash need, you get an eligible credit line linked to your portfolio and spend instantly through UPI.

The idea is to make investments more liquid while keeping long-term wealth creation intact.

Core features we’re exploring:

  • Your mutual funds stay invested
  • Instant UPI access against holdings
  • Up to 30 days interest-free usage
  • Transactions above ₹2,000 can be converted into 6 / 12 / 24 month EMIs
  • Flexible/custom repayment options

This is currently a demo / early-stage concept, not a live product yet.

I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually invest in mutual funds:

What if your Mutual Funds worked like a UPI Credit Line instead of forcing you to redeem them?

I’m building LienPay a concept where mutual fund investors can unlock a credit line against their existing funds and use it for UPI payments, without redeeming their investments.

Simple example:

You have ₹3L in mutual funds.

Instead of selling units during a cash crunch, you get an eligible credit line and use it through UPI.

The idea is:

your funds stay invested

you use only what you need

you repay later with easily emi conversion

no forced redemption for short-term liquidity

This is still a guided demo, not a live product.

I’m trying to understand if this is actually useful or if I’m overbuilding a problem that people don’t care enough about.

Would you use this or not ?
