Fallout 3: The Pitt is the story people understand the least.

Whenever I see people review the pit in any manner I almost always see them describe it as you choosing to either free the slaves or side with a bunch of slavers.

This is just not the case.

Wernher is not a slave, he was Ashers right hand man. Wernher wants Ashers position and he's going to trick some stupid kid from the wastes to do it. Honestly this might be Bethesda's best written quest since most people come out of it thinking they helped the slaves.

If you side with Wernher none of the slaves are free and the chance of finding a complete cure to radiation sickness (a pretty huge deal) becomes literally 0%, Wernher throws the miracle baby that could change the wastes forever in a run down shack, why? Cause the cure is of no actual concern to him, he's now a king, thats all he wanted.

Not saying Asher is good, he's downright evil, but holds something truely valuable.

This story is picking between two evils and has huge themes of manipulation.

Identity of The Mother of the Fog

This is just speculation and going off old lore to explain this mysterious character.

In the first Fallout you learn of 4 characters that entered the Mariposa Military Base on June 23rd, 2102.

One was Dr. Richard Grey who was struck by a robotic arm into a vat of FEV and ended up floating in it for months until transforming into the methodically evil mutant known as The Master who came close to wiping out human life as we knew it.

The second was a man named Harold who was knocked unconscious in the Military Base and remained there for some time taking in radiation till he was rescued by a mysterious stranger. Harold later became a pseudo Tree God able to bring green life back to the East Coast.

The third was a man named Mark who was wounded and exposed to FEV before being sent back out of the Base. He most likely braved the Base once more to save Harold which exposed him even more. Mark later transformed into the shapeshifting eldritch being known as The Mysterious Stranger, a neutral force that works from the shadows. Yes, I subscribe to this theory.

And the final character is Francine, who was killed by security in the Military Base. What if Francine became a special type of ghost that has an association with radiation, a being we know as The Mother of the Fog. Ghosts have always been a mysterious but confirmed thing in the fallout universe and I can see a "lore dev" looking at the events at Mariposa and thinking they could maybe do something with Francine.

Dark Souls 3 Painting

This is a painting a friend made for me many years ago.

It depicts the true ending to the whole series and is my favorite piece of art I own.

Fun builds to switch things up?

Every once in a while I'll go into bounty clash with this build, no weapons, just tools, solo v 3s. Its really fun and switches things up a bit.

Having the ability to mug the first person you down is extremely underrated and almost always gets a good reaction from the one you mugged after they get back up. If you try this build I recommend taking Frontiersman for 2 spears and 4 poison bombs for map control.

Any weird/fun builds you guys have to share?

First playthrough complete. Will start my "Into the Wilder" playthrough after some more post game exploration.

Only complaint I can think about is I was expecting more interactions with the crew in the post game, but thats small and literally the only negative.

Journey was an absolute blast, Kojima was robbed game of the year for this title.

Also... that final hour is beyond insane.

Been hunting for 5+ years and over that time I've been thinking of rules that always apply when out hunting. As hunt has a ton of variables you need to consider I only have 3 rules, but they seem to help my friends when I hunt with them so I thought I'd share them, maybe they'll help someone here.

I'll say them then explain them further down.

Rule 1: Never bring a gun to a knife fight.

Rule 2: Stay with your team.

Rule 3: An open field is not cover.

1- Always have a melee with you, you need to get comfortable using them on hunters. If a hunter is melee charging you its foolish to try and shoot him, simply pull out your melee and melee counter them to end the threat. Same if someone is standing 3 feet from you trying to shoot you, just pull your melee and end them.

2- Self explanatory but even if you have a scope you need to be in a position to help your team and even rush in if needed, you are not a sniper, youre a Hunter and Hunters need to be able to adapt to a fight. You are always more deadly together.

3- Fighting in the nature bits of hunt can feel really safe, but youre always at a disadvantage because of the rotation potential. Leading fights to compounds is usually the best move but definitely not always possible. More of a "be extra cautious here" rule.

Are there any traits you guys have thought up or any changes to existing ones you want?

I'll give some examples of ideas I've had from 5+ years of hunting.

Sleepmancer: In darksight, put nearby animals and grunts to sleep.

Value: Highlights money bundles and cash registers in darksight. You gain money from shooting ducks and birds that are in flight.

Resourcefulness: You may pick up wild ammo boxes, tool boxes and health kits then place them elsewhere.

Wild Fire: Fire bombs, lanterns, dragons breath, flares, and fuses can now burn any ammo box, tool box, or health kit.

Baoh Dogs: (Duo Only) (Burn Trait) If you and your partner are downed within 10m of eachother you may both revive at the same time with no timer. Both must have the trait.

Rune Bolts: Regular bolts for the crossbow and hand crossbow now melt into your teammates, doing no damage and healing them for 25. This cannot revive. Bolts shot into your teammates cannot be recovered.

Kiteskin: Add to Kiteskin the ability to press F to catch a falling teammate and negate all fall damage. Both must have Kiteskin.

Stalker: In darksight, see the footprints of the last hunter you shot, lasts 40 seconds.

Would love to hear opinions on these and of course the ideas you all have. Till next time, Hunters.
