Rise, Fall, Ruin

Rise, Fall, Ruin

Hi, human beings of Wattpad/Reddit!

I just published my first Wattpad book, and I'd love some feedback. The title of it is Rise, Fall, Ruin, and it's a sci-fi psychological thriller.

Blurb:

>𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐝, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝.

In a country where obedience is everything, a brainwashed assassin realizes that he is more than what he's been made to be. Known only as the Asset, he kills without hesitation, but his era of fear might be coming to an end.
He could take his freedom, but freedom has a price and the Empire always collects.

I'd really appreciate it if you guys could take some time to check it out! Thanks!

(P.S. It's only marked Mature because of the violence).

Something that annoys me

Is when people ship non-canon ships that weren't and never will be canon but insist that their ship is still canon or could become canon. I, myself, ship many uncanon ships but I'm able to accept that they'll probably never be, for example, a gay ship between Luna Lovegood and Ginny Weasley. As much as I'd wished for them to be closeted Lesbians in canon, I know they're not.

I think it's fine for people to ship whoever they want obviously, but insisting that a ship like Drarry that is immensely popular to be canon doesn't sit right with me. Like yes, you can ship people together who don't actually get together in canon. Or you can ship canon couples. Your favorite couple doesn't need to be canon to be amazing.

Also, no hate to those who ship any of the example ships, or think their ships are or could become canon. This is just something annoys me when its someone who's being very extreme and refuses to acknowledge that their ships isn't canon, not anyone who wants their ships to exist in the source material, which we all want for our ships and headcanons, to an extent.

What is one plot inconstancy or plot hole in KOTLC that always bugs you?

Mine will forever me the Neutral Territories and crime. The Council says they monitor everyone, but they don't. How do we know this? In Neverseen/end of Everblaze Sophie and her friends cut off their registry pendants, and we later find out that other banished don't have registry pendants. So, by that logic, there could be whole families of unregistered and unknown elves living in the neutral territories, who's parents or grandparents were banished.

Which leads me to my second point. Crime. If there is a whole chunk of the world where no one rules, why isn't it a huge crime magnet? Hell, not just crime. Rebels, outcasts, and conspiracy theorists would flock there!

Crime (or lack thereof) in the Lost Cities doesn't make any sense in general.
