Struggling to vibe with Pax Romana

As the title suggests, yer boy has yet to be able to really get into PR.

I have played 1800 for literal weeks with a mate of mine, and even now I'd be game for booting up a new save, but there's just something missing from PR.

Objectively speaking, it seems 'as good' as 1800, systems wise, but it just lacks the character of 1800. Sounds superficial, but the likes of Alonso and the Captain added a bit of flavor. River of Gore never ceases to amuse, and hearing about the SEDUCTIVE CHARTS THAT BURY HIS DESK never got old.

I hate to say it, but it feels like all of the NPCs are bland, boring and basically anonymous. Bordering on AI slop. We've played 30 hours and I can't tell you anything about any of our challengers.

I know this isn't why we turn up, but when you're spending literal days on a save, I've found that I really miss these 'handcrafted' elements of the previous edition.

Anyone else feel the same? Or am I just being pedantic?
