Just want to talk to someone about my needs for my first server
Good morning,
So, I decided yesterday I was going to use an old laptop I bought in 2021 (MSI GF63 Thin 10SC) to make a server for my friend and I and whoever else might want to join later down the road. But, to be honest (and I don't know if I'm just overcomplicating it), it seems a little harder to do.
Yesterday, I installed Debian 13 with no graphical interface (I think that's what it is), and used AMP on another laptop to configure a test server. I got into it and played around. Now, I want to install a Cobblemon modpack, along with a map modpack and I want it to be able to play online. But, I'm lost on what to do and I keep running into errors.
Is there anyone willing to help/assist me on this? And I'm sorry for the long post. I get messing up is part of the learning process but I just want to do this right, especially if it's going to be connecting across America (I live in Florida and my friend is in Arkansas).
