System advice as an (old) newbie
Ok. I have not really messed with any stereo stuff since the 90s other than swapping head units. And even in the 90s I couldn't afford a big system. So be easy on an old man.
I am restoring a 91 S10. Giant turbo engine, the whole bit. While I am assembling all the go fast parts, I want to put a system together that focuses on loudwith added bump. I do have confines though. Its a bench seat and has yo be all the way back.
I posted some pictures of where I think I need to be. I already have Kicker K series 4s for the dash, 4x10s for behind the cab, and a Pioneer single din that I am reusing. out has one left and right output. I am adding some custom pods to the door because these trucks had no door speakers . That's the 6.5s, 2 in each door. 8 speakers overall with a sub.
I want to use the 6 channel amp to power the 4s, 6.5s, and 4x10s. Then use the mono amp to power the sub.
I will build a custom box or Rockford has a shallow mount box that seems to be the smallest on the market, but having trouble trying to find just the sealed box. The shallow mount sub you see.
So power system wise on a Sunday driver, do I need a bigger alternator or some type of power bank? Do I need a DSP? I was thinking the DSP would help me add the channels easier and they are fairly cheap. What else am I missing? What should I do differently?
I am not interested in building a competition system, just something loud in a small cab. I don't want to spend crazy money. Using the budget you see here, is there a more efficient way to spend the same money?
I know its a lot of questions, and I am doing the research, just would appreciate some solid guidance. Thanks guys!
