housing choice (eaton single or cv double)

i was wondering if anyone could tell me how bad are the eaton dorms? i'm trying to choose between an eaton single and a CV double due to budget,

pros of eaton: single room, private bathroom, apparently the rooms and desks are bigger? (proximity to academic buildings not a big concern)

cons: people sound quite vocal about how run-down it is?, no dining hall, mold issues

pros of CV: new rooms, closer to dining hall, has music practice rooms

cons: communal bathrooms, i'll have to room with someone (am quite an introvert, HAHA)

i do quite enjoy my privacy! but at the same time don't mind making friends with a roommate too,,and a CV double would be cheaper than a single. biggest concern is the living conditions tbh.

scholarship housing coverage

hello! im a freshman entering UM in this fall. according to my scholarship, my housing should be covered ("a standard housing and meal plan allowance based on the published cost of attendance rates for up to four academic years"), however the housing estimate given in my financial aid portal states that housing is estimated to be $16958.

does anyone know if this means that the scholarship will cover the actual billed housing cost (say if i get a CV single?) or am i capped to the COA estimate? (which is tough since housing rates don't seem to be out for fall 2026...?)
