Based in SG > AUS PR Application
We are a family of 3, a couple with 1 kid (5 years old). Currently pregnant with our second. We are renting a house with a helper/yaya here. We have been based in Singapore for around 13 years, holding awork pass. Twice na kaming nag apply for PR but rejected. Nasa construction industry kami.
We have started our Aus PR Application. My husband and I have had our positive skill assessment since April 2025. English exam na lang ang kulang para makapag-submit kami ng EOI. We are contemplating if we really want to push through on the PR application. Minsan kasi mabilis ung process minsan din matagal, pag magtuloy-tuloy, we are not sure if we are ready to make that decision. Nasa shortagelist ung skill namin.
Few things that make us reconsider.
- Our combined income is around $16k/month. It's not that big, but enough for our household. I saw the current offer in Australia it's almost the same and sometimes lower pa, due to the 30% tax deduction.
- Here in Singapore, nakapag-establish na kami kahit papano. Familiar na rin sa system and malapit lang sa pinas.
- May helper kami which helps us in taking care of the kids. Hindi na need magchildcare.
- Pero at the end of the day, we are still in working visa. Hindi PR, and in the future. Mahirap kasi wala din maipon, mainvest etc. dahil malaki ang expenses as a work visa in SG with kids.
- If we will choose to be a PR, is it SG or Aus? We will still choose SG vs Australia. Mahirap lang talaga makakuha ng PR sa SG but we are still trying.
