Calculating workload with the new GMD batched system.

Disclaimer: This is not a thread about that word we cannot use on this sub.

This is a thread about managing your time.

With the new GMD changes, drivers need to start thinking like a route driver and working off of averages:

Average Miles Driven Per Hour (online)

Average Stops Per Hour (online)

Go do a few of these horrible GMD batches and figure out your average, and then you can paint a reasonable picture of what the future of your market looks like.

I had another table that I used for my grocery orders, and I decided to modify it.

Drivers need to start thinking like any other route driver when they calculate their workload and production efficiency.

You'll quickly understand how Walmart is f***ing us, while they steal customer's tips.

Edit: I didn't catch the formula mixup until I got on my computer this afternoon.

Pros & Cons of Batched GMD

The new GMD system is wonderful in the aspect that it keeps drivers busier for longer periods of time so we aren't fighting over orders.

All the company had to do was add pay for the GMDs that was the equivalent of one gallon of fuel in the state the market is in.

Gas today at Murphy's is $3.40/gallon.

Lets make up a common scenario:

----------------

25 Miles / 3 Grocery Orders / 5 GMD

Base Pay: $8.00

Tip: $15.00

GMD Pay: ($3.40 * 5) $17.00

Total: $40.00

-----------------------

At a $40.00 rate, this order would move in seconds, and it wouldn't even cook off.

Be realistic Walmart. Have some empathy and treat drivers like human beings rather than cattle. This is a trillion-dollar corporation asking us to work for free with the new changes.

Stop using Grocery customer's tips to get us to deliver items that should be shipped by FedEx or USPS ground delivered for free, all so this company can weasel its way out of paying shipping costs they dump off on the customer anyway, and subsequently keep those shipping costs the customer pays as pure profit.

Wooohooo!

Cheap pieces of crap.

They rip off the customer and the driver, stuff the shipping costs in their pocket, and give us the bird.

Drivers in my market are rejecting most of the garbage.

Logged in and started screenshotting all of the orders for the first 10 minutes of my shift.
