Easygoing, Responsible Man Looking for a Peaceful Home✌🏽

Hey, ya’ll !
I’m a laid-back, grounded gay guy originally from North Carolina, but NYC has been home since 2001. I’ve spent time in other cities, but I always find my way back here—nothing really compares.

A little about me:
I’m pretty chill and value a calm, positive home environment. I’m a singer-songwriter and involved in a progressive, community-focused gospel choir. I’m into holistic living, good energy, and just keeping things peaceful and drama-free. Home, to me, should feel like a reset.

What it’s like living with me:
I’m clean, respectful, and easy to live with. I tend to keep to myself during the week and don’t bring the party home. No smoking, no chaos—just a relaxed, respectful vibe. My landlord actually calls me the “father of the building” because I’m reliable and take care of things, so you’ll never have to worry about someone dropping the ball around the house.

I also have a good sense of humor and get along well with all kinds of people. I’m social when it feels right, but I definitely value my personal space too.

Logistics:

I work in patient care across the city and also help facilitate support groups at the 🏳️‍🌈LGBTQ Center
Looking to stay close to a subway that makes commuting easy (Downtown Manhattan access is key)
Budget is around $1,200.

Open to a
•Studio,
•1BR, or
•A large room
…in a peaceful, clean, shared space.

I’ve been in my current place for 7 years with a solid rental history and great references

I’m looking for a place that feels calm, safe, and respectful—somewhere I can recharge but also be part of a good household dynamic.

If that sounds like a fit, would love to connect.

#47 cut the grant I work for and landlady selling bldg 😱💔🙏🏽

So I’ve been living in the same place for about seven years now, individual lease for my room in a three bedroom. It’s been great living here. I really felt a sense of stability and ownership. My landlord even loves me because I always go around fixing things that need to be fixed.
Well, the last week of April, I got the news that she’s selling the building and they’re going to make my apartment into one unit as opposed to three individual leases per room. So I can either rent the entirety as one unit for $2900 or look for something else.
At the same time the orange menace # 47 cut the grant for any HIV/AIDS programs, research, funding. And that’s the grant that I work for… So my last day of work is May 31.
All this happening at the same time and I’m losing my mind.

Does anyone have any leads? I have great references for work and for my housing.
