I went to film college in the early 2000s. While I was there the college brought over an exchange student from South Korea. His name was Roi and his English wasn’t the best but a few of us had no problem communicating with him. He was a little older than us but we all had a passion for film.
Roi tells me one day that he has never tried weed before and wanted to try it. I told him listen try a little bit for your first time, don’t take too much. For context we were aloud to stay late to edit projects or write or film stuff whatever. So one day we finish school, I have a joint and need to stay late to do some editing. Roi, myself and 2 others go smoke this joint. Roi smoked cigarettes so he could handle the smoke. He kept asking to pass it to him. I told him “Roi slow down, it will hit you harder when we get inside. 5 minutes after finishing the joint, Roi starts having trouble walking. Me and another student put his arms around us and get him up to the edit suite.
The other student left as soon as we got Roi inside. He laid down in the back row of computers and I started editing checking on Roi every few minutes making sure he was ok. I was a little worried because who knows what can happen in a situation like this. Then I remembered when I eat it kills the buzz so I went and grabbed a bag of Doritos and a can of Nestea. I came back to the edit suite and Roi was still out like a light and would only make noises when I tried to see if he was alright. I opened the bag of Doritos, the can of Nestea, left it beside Roi and went back to editing.
About 20 minutes later I hear a crunch, then another and then a sip from the can. …Roi was alive!
I approached him this time, sitting down on the floor with him. “ I told you to take it easy Roi” I said to him. He thanked me for staying with him and helping him with the whole experience. I told him no problem and sorry it wasn’t what he expected. He went back to sleep and I went back to editing… then a cleaner came in and had to check the mouse trap in the corner where Roi was. I played it off like he had a bender the day before and the cleaner left.
I’m now done editing and tell Roi I got to go but made sure he was ok. He reassured me he was ok and just needed to sleep a little longer. I felt comfortable leaving him because he had obviously come down at this point. So I left and told him I would see him tomorrow.
Roi didn’t come to school the next day and in fact Roi never came back at all and to this day I have no clue what happened to Roi. That was over 20 years ago. ….Roi if you are out there and read this…. Hit me up and let’s bum one!!! Hahaha

I rescued her when she was a pup and she already had the name so I kept it. She was a gentle giant who loved everything alive, except flies, she ate them. I miss her so much and wanted to share her talent. Hope you enjoy!

I can’t speak dog but I was thinking of taking some night classes. Almost sounds like a political debate about how treat quantity is down.
