So the month of April was supposed to be my second IUI cycle after the first IUI cycle failed. I was on 5 mg of letrozole for the first two days and then the remainder is 2.5 mg for the remaining days. The second cycle was the same dosage, but this time of Clomid.

The VA is paying for my fertility treatment so, unfortunately, there is a lot of loops and people involved in my fertility care. Well, someone didn’t do their job and my authorization ended up expiring and after a month of taking clomid taking Lovenox injections and gearing up for my monitoring scan to do my trigger shot. I arrived to my appointment just for them to tell me that they could not do it because the VA would not pay for it and I need to pay $5000 right then to continue my cycle or they would have to cancel. No scan, no bloodwork, not even sure what the clomid did if did anything at all.

I was heartbroken, angry, I even called the White House hotline. I was absolutely pissed. Little background information we’ve been trying for six years. We’ve been trying since I was active duty so now that I’m a veteran this was our clear chance of finally having a family.

So we decided we’re not gonna do a third IUI after this IUI was canceled & that we were gonna go straight to IVF.

Well, today, I went to my OB/GYN just to get a doctors note for my wax specialist. My doctor came in handed me my doctors note and then she handed me a slip of paper that said hCG positive 🥹 in other words the cycle was canceled, but the meds did their job and we conceived naturally for the first time in my entire life.

I guess I’m sharing my story because of course I’m happy but to give someone out there who has just lost hope some courage to keep going. I’ve had PCOS since I was 15 years old. I have never ovulated on my own and here we are with a naturally conceived pregnancy. Anything is possible as long as you continue manifesting and continue praying to whichever or whomever God you believe in. Good luck mamas keep fighting the fight 🤍

The Uterine Wall of Fame (UWOF) is a collection of real IVF success stories from people who faced tough odds -- low-grade embryos, repeated failures, low AMH, mosaic results, and more. They are shared for support and perspective, not as evidence that a specific treatment works.

UWOF #36 is one of those stories!

After 18 years of infertility, 6 retrievals, and more than 50 embryos arresting at day 3, Dina conceived at 41 from four frozen day 3 embryos. She delivered a healthy baby boy at 42.

Hey everyone and welcome! I'm u/TTCJourneyResearch, a founding moderator of r/ArizonaFertility 🌵

I created this subreddit because I realized there wasn’t really a central place for people in Arizona navigating fertility treatments to connect and share experiences locally. Make sure to join our Facebook too 🤍

Fertility treatment can feel incredibly isolating, and sometimes it helps to talk with people who understand what the process is actually like.

This community is open to anyone in Arizona navigating things like:

• IVF

• IUI

• Egg freezing

• FET / embryo transfer

• infertility testing

• donor cycles

• male factor fertility

• or just starting to explore options

The goal of this subreddit is to create a space where people can:

• discuss experiences with Arizona fertility clinics

• ask questions about treatment and medications

• share resources and information

• support each other through the ups and downs of treatment

Whether you’re just beginning fertility testing or already in treatment, you’re welcome here.

If you’re comfortable sharing, feel free to introduce yourself and where you are in your journey.

Thanks for being here. 🤍
