Why Choose TCL Art TVs? From A100 to A400 Pro Explained
Why TCL lifestyle TVs – The evolution of the PRO series
With the launch of our new A400 Pro in 2026, we’re taking a look back at the evolution of our lifestyle Pro TVs. While many art-style televisions prioritise appearance over performance, the TCL A400 Pro combines design with some of TCL’s most advanced display technology. Featuring Quantum Dot and now MiniLED's, delivering vibrant colours, deeper contrast, and an exceptional viewing experience - while looking aesthetically good too.
Europe remains the largest global market for framed Art TVs, with annual volumes between 300,000 and 400,000 units - that's alot of TVs (and competition!).
Nordics , Poland, UK, Netherlands, and France being the top buyers of Art inspired TVs
Start by looking at the A100 or "Living Window" a TV most have not heard of (and even finding information is difficult!)
2018 TCL unveiled the A100 Living Window TV-an early step into design-led display innovation that began blending screens into the home environment.
By 2020, TCL advanced this vision with the launch of the A200 Pro Rotating TV.
Designed to introduced a home-centric aesthetic with a rotating display enabled by a separated body and screen structure, offering a more "flexible" user experience.
Including a discreet motorised camera, fabric-inspired finishes, and a cable-concealing metal base. The A100 was recognised with the iF Design Award 2020.
In 2024, TCL further evolved the category with the A300 Pro NXTFRAME TV-defined by the concept “Art in form, chic in space.” With its ultra-slim profile, matte screen, AI-driven art capabilities. it refined the balance between design and functionality. The introduction of flexible placement options, including a movable stand, reinforced its role as both a display and a lifestyle object within the home. 27.9mm Ultra-Slim Body* QLED – HVA matte Screen

The Matte HVA Panel is a familiar strength within TCL Art TVs (Seen on the previous A300 models) recreating texture appearing more natural and paper-like, similar to readable tablets such as our NXTpaper.
It allows the screen to become a canvas rather than a digital display combined with the wooden frame it blends into the interior rather than dominating it. During the day, it reduces reflections, allowing comfortable viewing in bright environments without glare or distraction. As lighting conditions shift, the TV adapts to maintain a natural balance.
At night, A400 Pro transforms into a high-performance large-screen TV. It is built for consumers who want an Art TV without compromising picture quality. This is reflected in its specifications, featuring an ultra-slim integrated frame and matte HVA panel, paired with up to 448 local dimming zones (98"). A brightness sensor and TCL AI assistant optimise viewing, while 93% DCI-P3 ensures rich and accurate colour reproduction.
Helps dissipate heat even when mounted flush to the wall High-thermal-conductivity materials and an optimised airflow path help move heat away from key components to support stable performance over time.
The A400 Pro integrates a unibody frame with a light walnut woodgrain bezel, evolving from the white frame of the A300. The upgrade from QLED to QD-MiniLED significantly enhances contrast, delivering deep, accurate blacks, ideal for displaying artwork such as pieces by Michael Godard - who uses black backgrounds making his Art pop out (same idea is applied here)
New Large-format options, including a 98-inch model, allow the TV to function as a full wall mural, transforming living spaces and enabling users to display personal artwork at scale-from graffiti to elaborate art installations. I'm hoping we can get these on display in a gallery somewhere!
The 9.9mm ultra-slim unibody design (with minimal total depth when mounted) reinforces the framed-art aesthetic, with no external box or visible structural elements.
Connectivity is upgraded with Bluetooth 5.4 for stable dual-device connections, such as a headset and controller simultaneously, and Wi-Fi 6 for high-speed, reliable coverage compared to last year’s A300.
Art Mode (T-Exhibition) enhances the experience with a built-in gallery of classic works such as Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh, capturing the use of colour and movement characteristic of impressionist art.
It also includes AI-generated artwork for creating your own interpretations of classic styles, as well as personal photo uploads-ideal for artists who want to display their work without the need for physical framing. This transforms the display into a customisable art, allowing you to show off your own work without having to pay to mount them! (I try to be an artist myself, so this is a feature that sells it to me)
Audio performance complements the visual experience. The A400 Pro features a built-in 2.0-channel speaker system tuned by Onkyo, delivering balanced, high-fidelity sound backed by decades of acoustic expertise.
The A400 also now work with Tutti-Choral allowing you to connect a soundbar and combine both the TV sound with the soundbar to create a larger soundstage.
