Hi everyone,

It’s been about a week since I set up my terrarium for isopods. I currently have Nesodillo arcangelii “Shiro Utsuri” in it, but for the past 2–3 days I’ve noticed something appearing in the substrate, and I’m not really sure what to think of it or what to do.

I’m not sure if it’s mycelium or mold growing, but it seems to have spread throughout the entire substrate. So far, there’s nothing on the surface, only inside the substrate.

I’m wondering if this will balance out on its own or if this means I’ve crossed into a not-so-great stage 😔.

What’s also confusing me is that this would suggest the substrate is quite humid, but at the same time the air in the terrarium doesn’t seem that humid. There’s no condensation on the walls, and the top layer of the substrate doesn’t look soaked either — not dry either, just somewhere in between.

I feel a bit lost, to be honest…

On top of that, the humid side with sphagnum moss dries out in about 12–24 hours, so I’m wondering if I should keep misting it lightly to maintain humidity?

I’d really appreciate any advice, I genuinely need some help figuring this out 😔
