AITAH for not dog sitting for my friend because she has cameras in the house?
My friend asked me to dog sit for her, and I told her I would think about it. This wasn’t going to be paid or anything, just something nice to do for her. She asked me if I wanted to hang out and while we hang she would show me her place and the dog so I could see what I would be doing.
While I was there, I noticed she had security cameras in the living room, bedroom, and other rooms. I asked if her if when I’m dog sitting, if the bedroom camera could be off because that’s where I would be changing after work and sleeping while I’m watching the dog. She told me no it would not be off. I told her I was uncomfortable with the bedroom camera only for those reasons and she asked me if I planned on taking something of hers and that’s why I wanted it off.
I told her if the camera would not be off, then I would not be comfortable dog sitting. It’s her right to have cameras in her house wherever and whenever she wants, but it’s also my right to decide I’m uncomfortable and not do it. I also told her no with plenty of time to find someone else (and she did). She got mad at me for saying no because of that and told everyone I was being rude for not watching her dog because she has cameras.
AITAH?
