Are these Raccoon or Cat tracks in the carpet?

Hi all. It’s been an exhausting day. Raccoon’s broke into my grandmas house while she was gone and while cleaning we discovered they were very much still there. They are currently (hopefully) isolated to the chimney at the moment.

We had thought they had only ventured in the living room downstairs as that’s where 100% of the mess was but as I was checking up stairs I found prints in the carpet. We aren’t sure if they are from my grandmothers cats (who are isolated in her bed room now) or if the raccoon’s really did come up stairs.

The lat few images are from down stairs and are 100% raccoon for comparison.

Thanks!

What anima broke into my grandmas house (nsfw poo second picture)

My grandmother only lives in West Virginia in the spring / summer and came home today to find this mess.

Cops came and found her chimney flu and cover were forced open. No security alarms were tripped and nothing was stolen. Based on the size of the poop (a few inches long each) we think it’s a raccoon. Would you guys agree? Also can you tell how old the poop is? We don’t know when the animal broke in.

What broke ont my grandmas house? (NSFW poop second picture)

My grandmother lives in Florida in the winter and comes back to West Virginia for the summer. She found this mess in her house when she got back. Her security system was not tripped and nothing was stolen. Cops came and found that her chimneys flu and cover were both forced open.

Based on the size of the poo being a few inches long (each wooden plank is about 3 inches long) she thinks a raccoon broke in. Would you guys agree? Can you help tell us how old this poo is? She was gone for 6 months.
