Hi everyone,

I recently received an admission offer from Technische Universität Ilmenau for a Master’s program. I’m happy to have an admit, but I’m a bit concerned because Ilmenau is a small town with fewer part-time job and internship opportunities compared to bigger German cities.

I’m still waiting for decisions from other universities, and visa processing from Nepal can take a long time, so I’m unsure what to do.

Would it be a good idea to:

  • start the visa process,
  • and later switch to another university if I receive a better offer?

How difficult is it to change universities later before visa interview.

Has anyone here done something similar? Any risks or things I should be careful about?

Thanks!
