We can add welding goggles to the top 10 list of stupid shit I’ve done in my life.

I’ve been learning from a couple guys at my job for quite a while now and they have really nice helmets. I bought a welder a while back but I liked the goggles better, just felt a little more comfortable. So far, I have just used the welder for some exhaust and car body repair. Well, today I was fabricating some parts for my son’s car and had to weld quite a bit. I always wondered why welders would want to wear that big helmet but I figured it was more to deter getting hit in the face by got splatter, especially if working under a car. Now I know……I look like I spent the day at the beach with no sun screen and huge cucumbers on my eyes. I don’t know why I didn’t think it would burn the skin when it will burn your eyes in seconds.

Let’s place this one at number 7.

Top 3
Standing on top step of ladder while using a chain saw on a branch.
Setting the trigger lock on the angle grinder with a wire brush while under the car on a creeper. That one was interesting, it somehow got into my elbow high leather gloves and just kept on wire brushing, but instead of rust, it was skin.
Shutting off a breaker instead of the main and then not double checking the power in the room.

Buying a helmet tomorrow.

1952 Natl bd air compressor

My father bought this when he started as a mechanic in 1970, he handed it down to me when he retired in 2010. I use it all the time and it still works perfectly fine. It had the original motor on it until last winter when my son went out on a -10 degree day and ran it. The ol’ girl doesn’t like cold and it burned the motor up.

Rust reformer

I have the whole rear end out on my kids car to do some work. I have a spare car so I’m not in a hurry so I wanted to clean up the rust he has on the parts that are out. Lots of surface rust but some flake. I have a 55 gallon drum of phosphoric acid so I use that to treat some of the tight spots where I can chip off the flake but can’t get in to sand it down.

I saw some rust reformer by rustoleum so I bought a can and gave it a shot. I figured, hell, it would be a ton easier than phosphoric and neutralizing. I did one part. Just surface rust left, I needle scaled it really well. Did everything rustoleum said. I let it sit for a week and needled it again to see. As soon as I hit it with the needles, the rust started showing.

Is this the way the product is? I figured it turned transformed like the phosphoric acid but it did not. Is this how it’s supposed to be or is the product just garbage?

I was wondering why my thyme plant wasn’t sprouting.

I was watering and the ground started moving, all of the sudden, babies started popping out of the ground. Mamma built it right down in the roots.

Lavender still tiny after 6 months.

My daughter wanted a lavender plant so we potted a seed. It looks good and healthy but after 6 months, this is all the bigger it is. It’s been this size for a long time now. Is this normal?

Hi all.
Not my bike but it’s my sons. He bought a 2026 Ninja 500 and it was delivered. He took it out for the first little ride the other day and came back after 4 miles saying the low oil light and the check engine light came on. I looked at the oil level and couldn’t see anything but I noticed that there was oil all over the bottom of the motor, you could tell it had been dripping out. The filter felt tight and I couldn’t tell if it was coming from that or somewhere else.
They came and got it and a few days later they called him and told him it was done but they didn’t find anything wrong with it. No more oil light, no more leaking. I am not dumb and know what I saw so I am trying to figure out why they would say nothing was wrong with it.
Any ideas?

It’s the inner on an 04 corolla. There is the groove that’s closest to the boot that’s for the clamp so what is this one for?

u/Sure-Abalone-1040 — 11 days ago

I have the right grease, I am just unsure of how much. Online it says 80-100 grams but I don’t have a scale. Should I fill the boot itself or the housing? An idea of how full the boot or housing should be with it, would be helpful.

Thank you.

My last ferritin was 74 in 2019 when I was getting rls periodically. Now it’s every night and I can’t even sleep in our bed anymore because I keep my wife awake all night.
I am a 42m. Over the past couple years I’ve noticed massive change. Severe rls, to the point I’m only sleeping a few hours a night. Hair loss, not a ton but I can notice it. Depression symptoms, lower libido and some other stuff. I just pushed it off from aging but now I am wondering if some of it has to do with that ferritin level dropping. Doc put me on Wellbutrin but it didn’t help. I found a new doctor and he noticed I was diagnosed with adhd as a child so he tested me again and put me on Adderall, which I am currently on. This has helped with many things, even the depression but I am still suffering in other areas.

I search low ferritin (even though my test says normal, Mayo Clinic advises over 100) and it shows many of the symptoms I have.

Two questions.
Is it possible some of these things are contributing to the symptoms I have?

My doc wants me to start vitron c and advised no dairy or calcium with it. She wants me to take it 3 times a week. Does this seem to help people or is the better option infusion? How much are infusions?

Ferritin still says it’s “normal,” but I read people on Reddit saying it’s not normal so why is that?
Over the past couple years it’s become worse and worse and I finally went I . My last ferritin level was 74, this time is 26.

It’s not just the action itself, but among other things, intent. Does that change if one were to find things out later on? To give an easy example, let’s say you see a starving person and out of compassion, you give that person a candy bar that you have. You find out the next day that they died from a peanut allergy from a snickers bar. Would it still be wholesome since it was done out of compassion?
I like hypothetical so let’s go further. A few days after that, you see on the tv that the person who at the candy bar and died, was wanted for killing some children and that thought of compassion changes to hatred. You think “good, I’m glad he ate that candy bar.” Is the original seed of wholesome still there, does it change to unwholesome since your state of mind changed or does it stay wholesome but a new unwholesome seed is planted from the thought of hatred?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve suffered from severe rls for a long time, long before I even started the adhd meds. I’ll try to lay this out simply.
I take 30mg xr adderall first thing in the morning and then a couple hours later, I take a 10mg xr adderall.

I had rls before starting this treatment plan.

I’ve had days where I don’t take the 10mg or I don’t take any.

I’ve been on granules brand for both of these pills for quite some time, before this it was amneal, it’s always been the same with the rls.

A week ago, I picked up my 10mg and noticed the pills have changed so I looked and the manufacturer was mallinckrodt. The 30mg is still granules. The first day I took the 10, there was no rls, I thought it was odd but didn’t think too much of it. Then again, and again. The 4th day I didn’t take the 10 and severe rls. The 5th I took it and no rls.

This is odd because for the past 7 years, I haven’t had a night of not having rls except when I went on naltrexone with Wellbutrin for a short time, which I don’t take anymore.

I am not saying that the granules company makes it worse because it was the same before starting this but what I am saying, if that the mallinckrodt had seems to stop it dead. I don’t know what the reason is or what they have for inactive ingredients but something is different. In addition to this, I’ve had higher blood pressure since 2019. My diastolic has been over 100 since then. I check it morning, afternoon and evening and it’s always been over 100. Since starting this new brand, it’s down under 90.
