Should I try?

Hey y’all, I need some advice.

Growing up, my whole family was really athletic—except me. I was always just very strong. I’m 5’5” and 227 pounds. Yeah, I know I’m fat. I’m big, but most people don’t think I weigh that much when they see me.

I grew up watching my uncle fight—he did jiu-jitsu and boxing, and I think he even fought in the UFC once or twice (not totally sure how that works). Over the years, my brother and I have gotten more and more interested in fighting and watching it. My brother is 6’7”, 300 lbs, and he’s been trying to train on his own.

I’m 25 F ,turning 26 next Friday. I know I need to lose a lot of weight and build muscle, and honestly, learn everything from the ground up.

So I guess my question is…. is it even possible for me at this point? I’m not trying to go pro, I know that’s probably not realistic at my age—but I’d love to be able to actually fight in some capacity, wherever I could.

Growing up, people always pointed out how strong I was. I’ve never lost a fight—I’ve definitely taken some hits, but I’ve always held my own. I’m not very fast, but I hit hard and I’m good at grappling.

Is it even worth it for me to try? Or should I just do it for the experience? I’m open to other suggestions
