Grey Blocking on Left of Screen

In this video I am playing a blank tape with a portion recorded. The camera attempts to play the recording which eventually runs out and plays blank tape again. Ive used other tapes on it which have much longer recordings and it eventually shows "REMOVE TAPE" and beeps violently.

This was working 10 minutes ago and now its doing this. I used it a lot in the last few days after not using for a while so maybe that's why? It seems to record fine as well, it's just playback that has this strange blocking.

Debugging done:

  • Ive used a video cable to play it on another monitor and the issues persists
  • Used multiple tapes
  • Used battery and wall power
  • Cleaned the head with isopropyl alcohol

SPECS: Canon ZR30 MC A

Any advice? I know these guys are so finicky but maybe someone has something small they could advise me on.

Based on the distance between Pony & Who Cares (28 months). And the distance between Who Cares & TAT (30 months). It's interesting to think that it could be another 29 months until Rex 6. That would put it at February 2027. He drops a single 45-50 days before album release so we should expect a single around december of this year or january of next year. More likely january so there wouldn't be holiday music competition.

What do you yall think?

ALSO. TAT was fairly open and honest for Rex. It felt very complete if you were to look at his albums as a story arc. His last song is legit "finally". What do you guys predict the next album might be about?

Possibly more into him growing older? A finally healthy love for Rex?
