Genuine question about the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict

I'm from Canada with some Armenian roots from my dad's side of the family, so naturally I found interest in this conflict that has kinda been under the radar in global news and politics. When I first started looking into this whole thing, naturally I had my biases towards Armenia, but I'm someone who respects people no matter where they're from, and I'm also someone who respects the truth above all else. I know that there is a lot of false information being spread from both sides, and both sides have done some terrible things in this conflict, but I would like to hear from the people of Azerbaijan and your genuine views on the whole thing.

From my own research, I came to the conclusion that the majority of this conflict can be blamed on Russia (formerly the soviet-union at the time)? Please correct me if I'm wrong, and provide genuine sources for your information. I only ask for a discussion in good faith, I'm tired of seeing all the propaganda and hate against each other everywhere I look online, and I just want to see if there's a world where this conflict and hate ends, and if it's possible for both countries to become good neighbours.
