Weird question

I had a thought when I was taking the trash out this week. My municipality does not have a municipal green bin program, but most of our “garbage” if coffee grinds, eggshells and fruit and vegetables scraps. We can’t compost, we live in a townhouse with neighbours attached. Would it be weird to post in our community Facebook group and ask if someone would like to take our organic waste?

Dive groups in Eastern Ontario/Southern Quebec/ Upstate New York

Good morning,

I just booked a scuba class and intend on completing my certification this summer. Are there any groups that dive together in eastern Ontario or southern Quebec, maybe even upstate New York? I am excited to go out diving but would rather do it with others as I am new to this and want to be able to enjoy this hobby safely.

Thanks!

Big feet need waterproof shoes

I was wondering if anyone else with size 15 shoes found a good option to keep their feet dry in the rain? I try to walk 5k every morning before I start work and if I break that routine it sometimes takes a while for me to get back into it.

Thanks!

Walk pad for home office

Good morning fellow walkers. I was wondering if any of you have experience with walking pads for your home office? The 3 days per week I am working from home are mostly meetings, calls and answering emails.

Also, would love some recommendations on a walking pad for guys who are on the heavier side. I would love to be able to keep active throughout the day.

Thanks!

Skin tightening after weight loss. Worried about going under the knife, I would prefer something non surgical.

Good morning!

I began treatment for a hormonal condition last year which is causing me to loose a ton of weight. This is great, I feel amazing and I still have a lot of weight to loose. My main concern now is the amount of loose skin I am developing. I am doing resistance training to make my muscles bigger to help with how it looks but with over 200lbs of extra fat at my biggest, strength training alone will not do the trick.

I recently consulted a skin care person. She recommended a treatment called Elapromed. I’m a guy who knows nothing about weight loss and I still have 150 ish pounds to loose. I would love to hear your opinion on Elapromed or any other treatments that you would recommend.

I’m realistic with my expectations. I always wear at least a T-shirt and shorts so I’m not too worried about how the skin looks, I’m more worried about how it hangs and ideally I would like to not have to buy clothes to hide loose skin. I have a decent income and we live frugally, I can afford to spend an important amount of money if I will get results.

Thanks!

Looking for accountability buddy

Good morning brothers! I’m 28M from Canada.

I’ve recently gotten on a journey of getting my health both physically and spiritually in order. I have been very blessed to have my amazing wife support me along my journey but there are no guys my age at my parish so it would be nice to connect with some bro’s that share my faith and values as well. Big plus if you are also on a weight loss/health improvement journey.

New to the sport-Near Ottawa

Good morning everyone,

Me and my wife realised that we let ourselves go over the winter, we have a lot of outdoor activities we enjoy doing in the summer but none for the winter to keep us active. We live about an hour from Ottawa and have been looking into possibly doing cross country skiing next winter.

I did have a few questions I was hoping this community:

  1. Where is a good place within a few hours of Ottawa to try the sport (rent equipment for the day, easy trail for people who are not in the best shape physically)?

  2. I am a bigger guy (caused by a medical condition that is now under control and should gradually continue going towards a healthy weight) and I am wondering if it is hard to find gear for bigger guys (I wear size 15 shoes too).

  3. How much should we budget for starting if we end up liking it? We don’t need the best equipment but something decent for a couple who might do it once per week or so in the winter.

  4. Transporting skis: we have a 4 door sedan, will skis fit in the car?

Thanks in advance!
