Squad Up-Split the Night (feedback)

At its core, Squad Up is a social utility app designed to kill the "awkward money talk" that happens after a night out. It’s built specifically for college students and friend groups who are tired of losing track of who paid for what.

Think of it as the "Nightlife Version" of a bill splitter—it’s designed to be used while you’re moving between Ubers and bars, not sitting at a desk

How It Works (The 3-Step Flow)

  1. Start the Night: One person creates a "Squad" for the night. Everyone else joins via a quick link or code.
  2. Track as You Go: Whenever someone pays for an Uber, a round of drinks, or a late-night pizza, they log it in the app. The UI is high-contrast and "drunk-friendly" with big buttons so you can do it in 5 seconds at a loud bar.
  3. The "Morning After" Payout: At the end of the night (or the next morning), the app does the "Drunk Math." It shows exactly who owes what.
    • The Killer Feature: It has integrated Venmo links. You don't have to search for your friend's username; you just tap their name in Squad Up, and it launches your Venmo app directly to their profile to pay.

YOUNG MAN WITH A DREAM!

So I just made my first app with zero coding or overall app expirience at all. Im not going to lie I used Rork, i dont know if thats frowned opon or not in this app making world but honestly I feel the app came out with all the features I wanted it to have and I dont mind the way it looks. I currently been having family and friends use the app and everybody seems to like it. But its been hard to get the mutual people to use it or just randoms. Ive been marketing on tiktok and instagram but its hard to get a bunch of random people to follow and download you know? I guess my biggest question would be in the early phases is there a more logical way to get people to use the app because its not money or anything and I feel like its a good idea. And then I see all you guys whos apps are money getting so much retention. LIKE MY APPS FREAKING FREE. AND ITS A FINANCE APP TO TRACK HOW MUCH YOU SPEND ULTIMATELY SAVING MONEY LIKE UGHHH.

(WHAT THE APP IS IF YOU CARE I DONT WANT TO SHAMELESSLY PROMOTE) The app I made is called Squad Up-split the night. Basically its for like college students or young people who go out to bars and clubs in a group. Its a drunk friendly app where you input expenses throughout the night such as Ubers, drinks and what not and you can split or assign costs. At the end of the night you hit the end night button the app has who owes who for what and you can put in your venmo username and you can hit a button that takes you right to venmo with the exact amount you owe the person. I am currently in college and I am constantly buying ubers and drinks and what not and not getting paid back. I cant see why this app cant be the norm for going out. You just pay for what you owe no more no less. I feel like the apps simplicity and young vibe is great and its strictly for going out which is what seperates it from other expense tracking apps. I dont really know if this matters regarding my question but I feel i have a target market and was wondering if you guys would know how to directly hit them with force.
