YSK package forwarding/reshipping is a real business that has existed for years

Why YSK: a lot of people outside certain countries genuinely cannot buy from local marketplaces/stores because shops don’t ship internationally, payment methods fail, or sellers simply refuse foreign buyers. That’s why forwarding/proxy services exist.

I moved to Spain and started helping people buy things from local stores/Vinted and forwarding the packages abroad. that's literally it. some people call it forwarding, reshipping, proxy buying, parcel forwarding, etc. but every single time i mention this online people react like:

“who would ever pay for this”

“this sounds so stupid”

“nobody needs this”

... so another person receives the item locally and forwards it. that's it.

At this point I’ve made it my mission to explain this service everywhere because i genuinely got tired of seeing people act like this is some impossible concept when it's been around forever. A lot of people literally make a living doing this, and no, it’s not stupid, thanks

Last year I moved to Mallorca, Spain and accidentally turned a small side thing into €200–€300/month.

At first I was just helping people buy items from Spain/EU stores (Vinted, local shops, etc.) and forwarding packages abroad, mostly to the USA/UK. Now I also consolidate orders and source specific items people can’t easily get outside Europe.

My gestor told me that once I consistently pass ~€300/month, I should probably formalize it properly, so now I’m wondering if this could actually scale into a small startup or if it only works as a side hustle.

So:

  • Would you try scaling something like this?
  • What do you think would be the biggest long-term problem?
  • Is there a smarter way to structure it before turning it into a small startup?

And honestly… if anyone here has struggled buying something from Spain/Europe before, I’d like to hear what the hardest part was.

Hi everyone,

I’m feeling really overwhelmed and could really use some advice from people who have been in similar situations.

I have a small mixed Maltese named Tomoe who is about to turn 17 this year. She’s been with me her whole life, and my only goal right now is for her to be as comfortable as possible in her final years.

She has a few chronic conditions:

  • Idiopathic epilepsy (around 3 mild episodes per month, usually around sleep)
  • She’s been completely blind for about 3 years (glaucoma)
  • Some mobility issues in her back legs (likely spinal degeneration, but she still walks around at home)

Despite all this, she’s always managed okay… until this year.

The problem started when I had to go back to working outside the house. For years I worked from home, but now I’m gone about 8 hours a day (currently weekends, soon more often).

When she’s alone, she doesn’t just bark a bit — she barks NONSTOP for the entire time. No breaks.

Last year she also barked when alone, but there were no consequences. This year is different. After these episodes, she developed fluid in her lungs (likely related to stress + her heart/age). She’s currently on diuretics, which help, but I know they’re not a long-term solution.

So now I’m stuck in a really difficult situation:

If I don’t address her anxiety → she gets extremely stressed, barks for hours, and her condition worsens.

If I consider medication → I’m scared of side effects because she’s already fragile.

I’ve already tried before :

  • Toys, enrichment, anxiety products → 1 hour effect
  • Supplements like Zylkene → currently using, about 3days
  • Planning to try Adaptil and other calming options

But realistically, nothing OTC seems strong enough for her level of anxiety.

Here’s where I’m conflicted:

My long-time vet (who I trust a lot and has never tried to overcharge me) refuses to prescribe anxiolytics because he thinks it could be harmful in her condition.

Another vet I’ve seen before suggested anxiolytics like trazodone, but wants to examine her again and run tests before prescribing.

I understand both perspectives, but I’m stuck in the middle.

I feel like:

  • Doing nothing is harming her (because of the stress episodes)
  • But medicating her might also be risky

All I want is for her to be calm and not suffer when she’s alone.

Has anyone dealt with something similar — especially with an elderly dog with multiple conditions and severe separation anxiety?

Would you consider anxiolytics in this case? Or is it too risky?

I’d really appreciate any experiences or advice. I just want to make the best decision for her.

Thank you ❤️

It’s not anything big ( like others post from here DAAAMN, I whish), but it runs quietly in the background and brings in extra money every month. Most people I’ve helped are from USA/UK, but I guess this could work for anyone who struggles to buy from the country you are. AND WELL,If you ever need something from Spain or Europe, can be me, thanks.🌸
