I rwcently started growing my hair and found out i have curly hair(or do i?)

Ive always had short hair and recently started growing it out and im very new to hair care, please help me out i cant seem to understand how my hair works, looks very good when wet and semi dry but it wont hold the hairstyle i want and ends up looking very puffy, sorry if im not very helpful with the information. I want to figure out how to make a routine and have better hair as i plan to grow it out for a few more months before thinking about a haircut.

All advice is welcome🙏, im very new to this, please mind the weird camera angles and the vague information.
