Serious question for working artists — how do you handle no-shows and last-minute cancellations?

I got to the point where I was losing money every week. Not from bad tattoos — from people who just wouldn't show up. Started using a booking system with auto deposits and it basically solved the problem overnight.

What's your cancellation/no-show situation looking like?
