There's been some expressed interest among my group in the various hounds outlined in the player's handbook, but am I right in observing that it looks like only hunters can have adventuring animal companions? Or is it that anyone can have a dog but only hunters can tame woodland creatures? It makes sense to me that really anyone could own a dog, but I dont want to step on the hunter's toes by doubling up on what makes them unique. Maybe I just missed something
