Do riders face any sanctions for cold food complaints?

Sometimes I’ll report my food cold (if it’s cold obviously), but I’m guessing it’s not necessarily always the rider’s fault. Just curious if riders are notified that the food was reported cold and/or if they face any sanctions. In cases where it isn’t the riders fault, I’d rather they didn’t!

I’ve noticed if I order from somewhere close by, the rider always has other deliveries to complete and more often than not my food arrives cold.

But if I order from further away, the rider often comes directly to me, and the food is usually still warm.

In fact, for a chain I order from frequently, I’ve found that ordering from the branch that’s further away means I’m more likely to get hot food than the branch that’s close to me!

Have you noticed this?

I have a rewards credit card that I used to use for everyday spending. I’ve stopped using it for everyday spending as I found that I’d spend just a bit more every single month, something about the psychology of it. I sat down and did a calculation and found that the extra unnecessary purchases negated all the points I was getting and then some.

It’s not like I ever let it run a balance, I could always pay it off every single month so debt wasn’t ever the issue and it wasn’t heavy overspending at all, but I realised it wasn’t making me money. I now only use it for large purchases (for the S75 protection).

I know I could optimise things more closely, but tbh I prefer simplicity - as long as I’m meeting my investment goals each month and have no debt, I’m fine with not optimising every last penny.

For everyday spending, I now use a debit card with starling/monzo and track closely. Something about the instant feedback and seeing bank balance go down psychologically makes me want to spend less!

Good strategy?

Both being on the receiving end of it and experiencing it yourself when drivers are twats.

Because they’re in a car they can be a twat and speed off too. Pisses me off.

I love cycling in London but this is the main thing I don’t like about it if I had to list something.

Based in the UK and I’ve been suffering for years. This season was turning out to be the worst I’ve ever had. Finally decided to get a private prescription as I didn’t want to faff about with my NHS GP, couldn’t go a day longer suffering.

Got a prescription for Dymista and some prescription eye drops, and it’s like my life has changed. I can finally go outside, finally enjoy “the nice weather” that everyone goes on about, I can actually breathe outside of autumn/winter for the first time ever. It’s just so liberating.

Yesterday I actually dared to enter a park. A place that would be off limits for me until late autumn normally. I was FINE. NOTHING HAPPENED. Just feel so happy and wanted to share.
