The honest side hustle breakdown. What month 1 looks like vs what month 12 looks like.
Nobody talks about the gap between starting and it actually working. Here is mine.
Month 1. I listed about 200 items. Made $140. Felt pointless.
Month 3. I had over 1,000 listings. Made $600. Starting to believe it.
Month 6. Around 4,000 listings. Made $1,800. Took the model seriously.
Month 12. Just over 10,000 listings. Made $2,900. Consistent every month now.
The model is eBay dropshipping. Find products people are buying. List them at a higher price. When someone orders buy from a supplier and ship to them. Keep the margin.
The process for finding products never changed. Best sellers list. Copy title. Paste into eBay. Find sellers using same images but charging more. Open profile. Find listings with sold count. Hit sell similar. Drag images. eBay AI writes description. Price five cents lower.
What changed between month 1 and month 12 was just the listing count. Nothing else.
eBay gives every new listing a short window at the top of search. If it sells it gains ranking. If not it fades. The more listings you have live the more windows you open every single day. At 10,000 listings those windows turn into consistent daily sales.
To speed up the process. Run a 24 hour sale every day. Send offers to watchers. Never cancel orders, find a substitute instead. Keep your account metrics clean.
The gap between month 1 and month 12 is just not quitting during the slow part.
