A new restaurant in Great Neck NY named Lucky Dumpling had their soft opening this weekend, so we checked it out.

We had (as named on the menu):

1. Braised beef brisket with dried tofu.

2. Beef and wood ear mushrooms.

3. Shredded potato salad w chili sauce.

The braised beef dish was great. I loved the beef broth. There was a lot of tendon, but it and the beef were very tender.

The beef and mushroom dish was good. The beef was also tender.

The shredded potato dish was good.

My gf commented that there was nothing on the menu that stood out as special or unique. I'd like to go back to try their dumplings (sans gf), though.

I call this the 'You Gotta Lift a Little Higher' moment 😆

This was a great show. I'd be hard pressed to say which of the two shows I like best, so I won't 😆

Mai Yamane wasn't actually there, but the vocals sounded like a new recording.

Great show! I couldn't upload the full length vid, however.

I'm also looking forward to Piano Me, 4/11!

What: Yoko Kanno Live! Feat. Logan Richardson's Blues People Big Bang, with special guests Scott Matthew and Steve Conte.

Where: The Town Hall, NYC.

When: March 29, 2025.

The audience was not permitted to take pictures or film the event, however, The Town Hall had a photographer, and they said all attendees would receive an email with photos 'in a few days'.

As far as I know, no one has received this email, myself included, and The Town Hall has not yet replied to my three separate inquiries (via web submission, email, Messenger).

During an internet search today, I found at least three website articles with the same photos from the event, credited to Anthony Mulcahy.

I contacted Mr. Mulcahy. He said that he doesn't know anything about The Town Hall's plan to share his photos, but when I asked if I could repost/share the photos, he said "I have no problem with that. Thank you."

So these are photos taken by Anthony Mulcahy during the event, shared with his permission.

I also included a list of the performers/band, and setlist.
