Should I try one more year at CC to transfer to UCSC, or just move on?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been at community college for about 4 years now, originally with the goal of transferring to UC Santa Cruz. I’ve applied twice so far and got rejected both times.

I did get into a couple of local state schools, so I do have options but UCSC has been my dream school since the beginning.

The thing is, if I stay and try again, I’d be a 5th-year CC student. That feels a bit discouraging, and I’m also starting to feel older compared to the typical transfer crowd. I’m not sure if it’s worth spending another year trying to improve my GPA and reapply, or if I should just move forward with the options I already have.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation (or knows about transfer admissions), do you think it’s worth giving it one more shot, or is it smarter to just move on at this point?

Appreciate any advice.
