I called to cancel my Bell internet on April 1st. I requested cancellation on April 23rd, which based on my past bills I was sure was the end of my billing period. The CSR told me the end of the billing period was actually April 25th. They recommended that I set that as the final date. I agreed to cancel on that date.

Today I received a bill for one day of internet access past April 23rd. On Monday I'll call to dispute. I'm curious as to whether others have had this happen, and if they were successful at disputing the final payment request.

I switched to ebox from bell about a week ago. Since doing so, I found that latency is 20 to 30ms on ebox compared to 2 to 3ms I was seeing on Bell. Googling turned up many posts about this, with the conclusion being it does not affect day-to-day usage...only gaming. I can confirm the gaming part. Diablo iv is unplayable due to the latency.

If I had known about the increased latency due to routing everything through Montreal before changing to ebox, I would have found an alternative.

On April 25, 2026 Windows Store pushed update to GameServices 10.0.26100.7827. Ever since, I am seeing errors in Reliablity Monitor about the service.

I am reporting this so others can check to see if they are seeing the same. Post in Feedback Hub.

▲ 1 r/WeMo

I've had a a Wemo Smart Plug (F7C063) for several years. It worked flawlessly as the primary switch to turn on my media devices via Wi-Fi using my Logitech remote (via Home Assistant installed on my Synology NAS). Last week I changed routers to one that was compatible with my new internet provider. That resulted in a change in my Wi-Fi login credentials. The Wemo plug went off-line immediately. I went through the reset process that I followed in the past, without any success at getting it reconnected. I tried to use the phone app to reconfigure, only to find it would not connect.

So I googled, and found that the device had been killed at the end of January 2026. I had no idea! The phone app no longer works to reset wi-fi credentials. I installed Wemo Ops Center and Dibby Wemo Manager hoping I could set Wi-Fi login credentials using them. Neither of them detected the device. So there was nothing for me to configure.

The frustrating part about this is I found after the fact that if I had simply set the wireless SSID name and password on the new router to match those on the previous router, devices on my network would have connected wirelessly as if nothing had changed. That realization came after I had reset the Wemo smart plug. Dagnabit!!!

I'm ready to give up on this device. I've wasted hours and multiple router resets trying to get it working. I'm about done unless others post that they have successfully managed to reconfigure wi-fi settings for this device after the January 31st kill switch.
