Question about the years during TVD..

So as we all know, Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline were like 17 during season 1 right? Were they 18 in season 4 or not because I keep hearing it took place in 2012 which would make them 19, and basically college age. But they didn’t start college until season 5. So either it’s another inconsistency, or season 4 took place in 2010 ish. Any help?

What is one of the saddest deaths?

So there have been a lot of deaths. Especially if we’re considering the 8 seasons of the Vampire Diaries, 5 seasons of the Originals, and 4 seasons of Legacies. But what I want to know.. what is your list of the saddest deaths? Rose is definitely in the top 5 for me.

What year is Legacies set in?

(This is my post that I copied and pasted from r/LegaciesCW)

A lot of people are saying 2028-2031, but I’m not really sure. And it kinda seems like the ages are a bit inconsistent too. I was under the assumption that Hope was like 19-20 by the end, but I genuinely could be wrong. Can anyone help me out here? It HAS been like 3+ years since I’ve seen Legacies, so maybe they stated this at some point but I just can’t remember.

When people add letters/sounds to words that aren’t there.

An example of this would be people saying “eckspecially“ instead of ”especially“ or “expresso“ instead of “espresso.” Like why does this even happen? Have we really lost the ability to understand how to pronounce words? Like I get that accidents happen, but it grinds my gears.

I hate when men victim blame women for being abused!

(This is a copy and paste from my post on r/venting)

Now just to be clear, I’m not saying there should be no accountability in missing the biggest red flags even a blind person could see. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean they deserved their abuse. Obviously. Nobody deserves that. My issue is that whenever a person, usually a woman, is being manipulated by said abuser, men scream that it’s “her fault for not choosing a good man” even though said man seemed really sweet at first. Buying her flowers, going on dates with her.. and then they suddenly turn absolutely vile and nasty. Usually when they’re too deep into the relationship to see it. It all starts with the littlest things. Maybe being a bit dismissive when you’ve had a bad day. Thats normal, right? Until it’s not. It escalates and escalates and escalates until they’re too afraid to leave. But suddenly it’s THEIR fault for not knowing that someone was being a manipulative piece of shit. Even though that’s what fucking manipulation is. Give me a goddamn break.

When people have obnoxiously loud cars

Now, I don’t drive a car at all and maybe this isn’t my place to speak. Maybe cars are too expensive and the ones you can afford just happen to be hella loud, but sometimes they’re so loud you think it’s fucking thunder or some sort of Eldritch or Lovecraftian beast that just rose from hell. I get it, cars are expensive, but at least get some thing that won’t wake the whole neighborhood. I THINK that’s what a muffler is for? Idk, you tell me. I’m talking mostly about when they first start the car.

So we all know that vampires can turn their humanity off.. but can they choose which ones?

It’s been a while, so forgive me if I’m misremembering.. but didn’t Elena focus all of her returned emotions into hatred and rage and didn’t feel anything else? Does that count as turning off the others? Please feel free to let me know.

Is it possible for an Original Vampire to turn off their humanity?

(This is copied and pasted from my post on r/TheOriginals because i was too lazy to write it again)

We all know that Rose said older Vampires lost the ability to turn it off. Or at least, it became harder. Ans I’m assuming it’s because you become desensitized to everything after a few hundred years. Even Rebekah stated that they couldn’t. But here’s the thing, none of them have turned it off. Or we weren’t told of them doing so. Or maybe they did, and lost the ability to. Maybe they didn’t even try. I just wish we had something to fully explain it. It’s very confusing, because in Legacies we hear about Klaus and Caroline roaming around without their humanity. And I get that it was an alternate timeline by a Genie/Jinn, but that still shouldn’t contradict canon. So either they can’t, or it’s very hard to, or they never tried or were inclined to. What do you guys think?
