So story time. About two years ago now I got my close friend into Nolan movies. Started with Inception, then Prestige, then the Batman movies, then Interstellar. Since then he decided to watch Tenet, which I still hadn't seen on his own volition. We have a little ritual where every Saturday we show each other movies so this Saturday he (tried to) show me Tenet. There was about 20 minutes left when something came up and he had to go. And..I kinda just wanted to get my two cents on the movie out there while it's fresh in my mind. Soo...I think I understand everything that happened in the movie. It wasn't that hard to follow, a little bit but nothing terrible. Any problems I have with the movie don't stem from that. Actually...I just kinda wish Kat was the protagonist instead of well... protagonist. Her actress was great and you really felt like you were watching a traumatized victim of physical, mental and verbal martial abuse. It almost kind of breaks your heart when you see the man he once was when time starts reversing for him, questioning how he dissolved into this psychotic narcissistic madman. Which is perfectly balanced with John David Washington's and Robert Pattinson's natural buddy cop energy and somehow neither of these seem to over power the other. That being said I was more interested in Kat as a character than anyone else kinda by far. Overall, I like it but Nolan's done better. Inception and Interstellar are the goats but it's probably on the same level as the Prestige. Anyways I still need to show him Dunkirk so might do that next week. Although I'll be level with you, that movie kinda bores me to tears. But we'll see
