Looking for some advice. I was sent to Tentative Selection Letter for the same job. The first offer was a GL-7 which I accepted, then I was sent a letter for GL-5 three weeks later. (I was previously a GS-12 at another agency and I meet the GL-7 qualifications.) The HR rep told me that the tentative offer was based solely on my responses, which is strange because that means they’re offering jobs without having someone review an applicant’s experience. The tentative offer states “Please know that the grade level and location of this tentative offer have been established and are not negotiable; salary determination will be made at a later date.” I believe the “salary determination” is referring to the step not the grade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
